“Career-wise it can be a stepping-stone, because once you’ve had that role, that allows you to move into other things,” he said. “I think your next step would be to a position like a design manager or a project manager, depending on which direction you want your career to go. You get a lot of that just hands-on design experience, which helps become, make you a good design manager. And then you also get that kind in depth look at the owner’s capital process, so it helps you be a good project manager.”
